National Gemstone

Australia’s national gemstone is the opal. I can recall reading in several places that the country is a major supplier of opal throughout the world. While having different ‘looks’ to certified diamonds, one can only be captivated by the unique color and other properties that make it beautiful. So if you’re in town to do some treasurehunt (a.k.a. ’shopping’), then this is certainly one that should not be missed.
