It is quite common for people to ask around, perhaps in some online forums, about where is the ‘better’ place to get electronics if you are in (or visiting) Sydney. There are people who say local prices are relatively more expensive compared to getting it overseas. Particularly for digital cameras, there are some good reasons to get it locally though. Some big names in this space would have warranty applied only to locally sourced goods (vs. gray market ones). Though it will probably boil down to how much the equipment is and how much risk one is willing to take in exchange for cheaper prices.
