Go Shocking

The Melbourne Cup earlier this week has left some people still in shock after the favourites were beaten by a horse with a fitting name, Shocking. Anyway, throughout the entire week and perhaps the prior days before the actual event, media has built up all the hype around it. One time I was surprised to learn about female jockeys. Perhaps they get an advantage because of the generally lighter weight (though of course, there are some who are still women fussed by diet pill comparison). Of course, the rise in interest rates which happened on the same day has probably given people more shock than they needed.
