Peanut Allergies are very common here in Australia. They say that in every 50 children there is one who is affected with this kind of allergy. Hives is one of the common reactions of allergic children get when they are exposed to peanuts. It appears around their mouth or sometimes in their entire body. Others suffer from abdominal pain, vomiting and diarrhoea. Some reactions are life-threatening like sudden difficulty in breathing, swelling of tongue and a drop of blood pressure that can lead to loss of consciousness but they say that these are very rare cases.
There is no cure. The only treatment for this allergy is to avoid exposure to peanuts and other products that contain nuts. That is why schools in Australia banned these food/products in school premises for the safety of everyone.
