Hi! I am also a Filipina living in the UK. I think we are on the same boat, especially about those concerns you mentioned on rental crisis and child care. We are in exactly the same situation, i.e., looking for a place to rent nearer the school as my kids go from one friend’s house to another after school and wait for me til I finish work.
